When I was in primary school, I went to a party with my relatives and sat down with another child at the table. Children always have to compare their hearts, and the two of us competed to see who ate more, and naturally made a sound of "chirp, chirp". At that time, my grandmother stopped me sharply. "You can't eat with this sound, it's the rule at the table! I argued, "It is impossible for a man to eat without making a sound." As soon as I finished speaking, my grandmother picked up chopsticks and hit me in the mouth. I burst into tears. At this point, I realized that I really can't eat with sound.

The so-called "lip-smacking" refers to the sound of consciously touching the lower lip with the upper lip and stirring the tongue in the mouth. This sound is easily reminiscent of the sound of pigs eating, so it has become a taboo for Chinese. China's old-fashioned people have a big rule that requires people not to make a noise when eating, that is, not to gossip, not to joke, and not to speak loudly. When talking about leisure among the elderly, they always say "after tea and dinner", why do they say "after dinner" and not say “during dinner” It's because it's not allowed to talk during meals. Don't gobble up food, talk or make loud noises. This is due to health concerns, and it is now called health. Concentration is required when eating, so that you can chew slowly and avoid stomach problems. In addition, it is also for the sake of eating safety. Like eating beans, eating fish, gnawing bones etc., if you don't concentrate on talking and chatting, it is easy to get stuck in your throat, especially children. Therefore, it makes sense for the ancients to set this rule in the first place. Chinese pay attention to decency, in the eyes of Chinese, lip-smacking is a kind of poor sour. Of course, the Chinese taboo lip-smacking also because the sound of the lip-smacking is really a little difficult with people's ears.

Therefore, parents have set a rule for their children: you can't eat with smacking the lips. But there are still classmates or friends around who have this habit, don't their parents care?

Every festival , or relatives and friends do wedding banquet , the children always can not on the big table , will arrange a small table for the children. At first i thought the children were not qualified to serve , but when i grew up,i realized that this was because the big table was usually filled with adults talking business or drinking . And sometimes the big table can not sit so many people , so the children naturally open a small table to sit.

Because of my parents' work, I only stayed in the countryside until the first grade. But for me, that period of life was an unforgettable experience. Among them, the burning tower of the Mid-Autumn Festival made me feel novel and happy.

I still remember that a few days before the Mid-Autumn Festival, the adults would build the tower with red bricks in a fixed location or a large open space, and the taller the tower was, the better, as long as it was stable enough. Every time, I would help pick up the red bricks for fun. If I could put them there, it would be more rewarding.

It wasn't until I learned more that I realized I should explore its meaning. It turns out that the burning tower originated in the late Yuan Dynasty when the Han people rebelled against the brutal ruler and raised fire during the Mid-Autumn Festival uprising. It is also said that the custom of burning the tower, from the end of the Yuan Liu Bowen hid a note in the moon cake, about the August 15th fire as the signal, the implementation of armed uprising. No matter how, tower burning used to be a symbol of justice. Now, people live a beautiful life, so the burning tower is more to express the meaning of "Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival, through the burning tower to express the joy of harvest, blessing life like the Santa flame."Not only that, I remember my grandmother once told me "The shape of the Wata tower is round, square, polygonal, and so on. And each has its auspicious meaning."For example, my family usually built a round tower to show the memory of loved ones away from home.

But now, I have rarely returned to my hometown for the Mid-Autumn Festival, and I don't know how many other places will have the custom of burning towers. Although burning is harmful to the environment, I still think this tradition and most traditional customs should be preserved and continued. They all have their meanings.

As the New Year approaches, toasting relatives at the dinner table is one of the indispensable parts of the year, and it is also the most embarrassing part for me,Whenever having dinner with various relatives, it is impossible to avoid being called out to drink to them and say words of blessing, especially on major holidays.I still remember a visit to relatives last winter vacation, when we were eating at the table, suddenly my father asked me to stand up to the elderly relatives to say a few words of blessing and toast to them, I shyly stood up, said a few words of blessing, toast to them, that moment as if the air in the world are condensed, I am embarrassed, but can not avoid. The culture of toasting may seem a little embarrassing to contemporary young people, but it has a profound history as a traditional Chinese culture.

First of all, as a junior, you must stand up when toasting, and then call out the name of him, say the blessing, the most important thing is that the glass must be lower than the toaperson after. After the toasted person has received the toast and drunk the wine, we can sit down.

As a traditional culture handed down from ancient times, toasting has always been observed by us. Toast in ancient times as a wine table etiquette, there are "four steps", first, the drinkmust make a worship action, to show mutual respect, second, pour a little wine on the ground, meaning gratitude to the earth, third, taste the wine after the need to praise, fourth, to drink up, similar to today's "cheers" meaning.

As a traditional culture, toasting culture has been passed down so far. We should have a deeper understanding of its special meaning and special rules in ancient times, which is more conducive to our better inheritance.

I still remember something that happened when I was nine years old.One day, several guests came to the house, and their parents warmly entertained them. When it was time for dinner, I went to eat like that group of guests. I sat next to my parents and then I started to have a meal, but my mother stopped me.I was puzzled, so I asked my mother "why you stopped me”, Then after I finished this sentence, several elders began to smile at me, and I began to realize that I might have done something wrong. And my mother told me“ The younger generation should not move chopsticks before the elders did”She went on to tell me that it was actually a courtesy to show respect for each other. Before that, I always thought it was an indifferent thing and I don't think it's important to wait for others to eat, but only after that did I realize that it could actually show a person's courtesy. Now, every time I eat, I always pay attention to the actions of my elders, and I don't start until they start eating.

When we grow up, families rarely get together. But no matter how busy they are, they will always get together on New Year's Eve. In ordinary days, because of working in different places, we rarely see each other. Occasionally we have a meal together, but always someone absent.

I like the Spring Festival very much. It is adjacent to the New Year's Eve. At this time, my family is all back home, and there are many good friends to play together. When I was very young, I was always curious about everything. On New Year's Eve, " Mom, why make dumplings during the Spring Festival?"I chased my mother and asked," because it is our traditional custom in China. " She always patiently answered my questions. "Then why set off firecrackers?"I continued to ask," because to drive away the Monster Nian, it is very terrible ,oh, but very afraid of the sound of firecrackers, so it will not come to scare others " she said. Mother touched my head and went to the kitchen to continue to prepare the New Year's Eve dinner. At twelve o'clock at night, we will set off firecrackers again, sometimes we will set off fireworks, and then eat together. Together, we raised our glasses to welcome the New Year.

On the second day, we will paste Spring Festival couplets, the elders will give children lucky money, which is why children are looking forward to the New Year, my father will give me a big red envelope, a thick red envelope, I am happy to run to catch, and then happily to go to the supermarket to buy their favorite things.

Celebrate the New Year is our traditional custom, each place has a different traditional way of celebration, in different cities or villages should respect their customs, similarly, others to our place will always emphasize our customs.

Table manner refers to the common sense of manners at the dining table during meals. According to literature records, at least in the Zhou Dynasty, a fairly complete system of table manners had been established. I started to understand table manners through my grandfather's teachings. I remember when I was in first grade, one day after school, I came home and saw a lot of delicious food on the table. I quickly rushed to my favorite dish and sat down, then put down my schoolbag and started eating. After Grandpa came out of the kitchen and saw me, he wasn't very happy. Instead, he patted me and looked at me very seriously. He said, "Stop eating for now, go to the living room to rest for a while, and wait for everyone to arrive before eating." I was a bit angry and said, "Why can't I eat first? I'm very hungry now." Grandpa told me, "This is a matter of politeness. Waiting for everyone to arrive before eating will make them feel respected, and this is the main seat, not the seat you as a child should sit in!" After knowing the reason, I tidied up the dishes and sat down in the living room. After more than ten minutes, my relatives all arrived at home one after another. After my grandfather took me to meet my relatives, we sat down and had dinner together. With the development of the times and my continuous growth, I have also realized my mistake at noon that day and learned more about table manners through the internet, such as not inserting chopsticks in the middle of the rices, waiting for elders to pick up food before picking it up, and so on. Table manners not only shape a good image in front of people and earn respect but also greatly benefit the improvement of our own cultivation. It can also demonstrate respect for others and cultivate good social habits.

I don’t know about the winter solstice

My birthday is after the winter solstice, so the winter solstice is not so ordinary for me. It's an alarm, reminding me to my family.

But I don't know much about the winter solstice, only know that it is one of the traditional Chinese solar terms, in the winter solstice, you need to eat dumplings. I don't know anything else about that.

Just yesterday, on December 22 this year, that is the winter solstice. Everyone is talking about wanting to eat dumplings, the school canteen dumplings as expected to sell very hot. In the canteen, I was not early. As soon as I entered the canteen, I saw many students with a plate of dumplings in front of them. When I go to choose my meals. There is nothing left. At dinner, I turned on my phone and ate at it. I saw my high school monitor, posted a circle of friends: I wish you all a happy winter solstice. I didn't take this to heart. I just wanted to finish eating quickly and go back to the dormitory, after all, it was too cold outside.

When I returned to the dormitory, while playing with my mobile phone, I suddenly noticed that the circle of friends of my high school class with long hair was deleted by her, and she posted a new circle of friends: increased knowledge, was reminded by my mother, can not send happy winter solstice. This aroused my curiosity and confusion. I asked my other friends: do you know why the winter solstice can not send a happy winter solstice, without exception, they do not know.

I asked her, "I just saw your news, I am a little curious, why can't you say' Happy Winter Solstice '?" She replied, "Oh, this, my mother told me that in my home, the winter Solstice is the day to worship ancestors or erect monuments to ancestral graves, so you can't say 'happy'."I was shocked to reply, "Really, I don't even know ah, really long knowledge, thank you oh."

After the conversation, I couldn't help but search the Internet, hoping to know more about the Winter Solstice. Do not check do not know, a check startled, the winter solstice but a "big festival" it. The winter solstice is a traditional Chinese folk sacrificial festival. It is one of the four seasons and eight festivals, and is regarded as a big festival in winter. In ancient times, there is a saying that "the winter solstice is as big as a year". And according to the region, each place has different customs, in north China, the custom of eating dumplings, in south China, there is the custom of ancestor worship, banquet. In addition, there are some customs of "painting nine", brewing rice wine, eating glutinous rice balls, eating rice with roasted wax and ginger rice, eating sweet potato soup and fruit and drinking mutton soup. At the same time, the winter solstice is a good time for water conservancy and farmland infrastructure.

In understanding these knowledge, I was not only surprised at the extraordinary of the winter solstice, but also sighed at the wisdom of the ancients. After that, I have feelings about the extensive and profound Chinese traditional culture and a long history. Each of our traditional solar terms or traditional festivals is the condensation of the wisdom of the ancients, which is an important part of the Chinese culture, and also contains the cultural connotation of a region or a time. If we know more about these traditional festivals, we will inherit more traditional Chinese culture. In the future, I will certainly learn more about the traditional Chinese culture.

Can not wish a happy Dragon Boat Festival?

Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, and when you are a student, no one can say no to a  Dragon Boat Festival vacation with three days off.

I still remember the Dragon Boat Festival vacation in the second year of my junior high school, my parents took me to a relative's house as a guest that day, and I shouted Happy Dragon Boat Festival to my relatives just as I entered the door, but soon my mother corrected the mistake by telling me that I could only wish for good health and not happiness on the Dragon Boat Festival. At that time, I still didn't know much about it, and I just focused on playing with the children of my relatives.

It wasn't until high school that I realized that the reason why I can't wish happiness at the Dragon Boat Festival actually stems from the origin and historical background of the Dragon Boat Festival. The origin of the Dragon Boat Festival is to commemorate Qu Yuan's death by throwing himself into the river and to drive away the dragon, which is why it is also known as the "Day of Evil". On this day, people will row dragon boats, hang wormwood and eat zongzi to drive away evil spirits and pray for peace and health.

According to historical records, on the Dragon Boat Festival, people usually give each other gifts such as zongzi and fragrant buns to express their blessings and care. However, due to the special significance of the Dragon Boat Festival, some people believe that they should remain solemn and dignified on this day and should not congratulate each other on their happiness.

Therefore, on the Dragon Boat Festival, if we want to express our blessings and care, we can choose other ways to do so, such as sending a warm text message, sending a greeting card with blessings written on it, and so on. Of course, if we have different understandings and opinions about this day with our friends and relatives, we can also choose to congratulate each other happily on the Dragon Boat Festival.

During festivals like Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival when I was young, my family would receive gifts from our relatives. When they came into my home with bags of all shapes and sizes. At that time, I was very happy because they usually bring snacks and milk, which are my favorite.

As usual for the Spring Festival, relatives and friends came to my home with gifts. When I excitedly took the snacks and milk from them, I wanted to open them and taste them right away. While telling my mother that I wanted to eat this cookie, I also went to look for scissors to quickly open the snack box. My mom slapped my arm and scolded me that I couldn't do this, it was not proper etiquette. I didn't understand and cried loudly. Mom patiently held me and whispered in my ear,” Open the box after the relatives leave.” At a young age, I didn't know what this meant, but I followed along. After expressing gratitude, the relatives left. My mom then took hold of my hands and told me, “ Chinese people have their own culture when it comes to giving gifts to friends or relatives. It is important to know that giving someone gifts should not be a one-way business. Courtesy requires reciprocity. According to China's etiquette culture, opening a present in front of its sender is considered rude. “Okay, mom, now I understand. Let's also bring some gifts when we visit them next time.”

China has a rich and profound culture that requires continuous exploration and learning. The unique meanings of these cultures should be preserved and carried forward.

On Ghost Day, our family will worship our ancestors. Our family will cook a large table of meals every time, and will prepare a lot of paper money. When I first experienced ancestor worship as a child, I asked my grandmother, what is the significance of this activity? My grandmother gently replied that this is an ancient Chinese culture, reflecting the noble character of Chinese filial piety. At that time, I was too young to fully understand what my grandmother said. The rice on the ancestor table is very dainty, you need to slowly turn the rice in a bowl until it becomes a ball. In addition, two candles should be placed at the front of the table. In the process of ancestor worship, family members need to express their respect for their ancestors and their own wishes in turn. Until the candle burns out, we will take the paper money downstairs to burn, in the process of burning paper money, the mouth is still quietly read to the ancestors of respect and their own wishes. When you get home, you need to pour the rice back into the rice cooker and mash it before it can be eaten. This is the whole process of ancestor worship. Every time I worship my ancestors, my grandparents will teach me the knowledge of ancestor worship, hoping that I can pass on this traditional Chinese cultural activity. With the development of The Times, more and more young people gradually ignore ancestor worship activities, which is sad. In my opinion, it is necessary for young people to inherit traditional Chinese culture. Culture is the soul of a country.

Because of my parents's work,I stayed in the countryside with my grandparents before I went to kindergarten. For me,this is a good memory. When I was in the countryside,I often experienced different customs in various festivals. One of the most attravtive to me is the light stricks for the Mid-Autumn Festival. When I was living in the city,I often missed the Mid-Autumn Festival in the countryside when we had a large family together. So I went online and learned about the origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival lighter.
The traditional custom of lighting torches in the Mid-Autumn Festival has many sources and implications. One saying is to commemorate the Red towel Army uprising led by Liu Futong. The other is to drive away the plague, ask for peace, pray for blessing. There is also a legend that in ancient times there was an evil god in the middle of August on the lunar calendar. When the moon was full, the peasants could not set fire to grain. After that, one man came up with a way: in the future of the evil god, it will be ignited with grain straw, and the purpose of the earth is a sea of fire. After the vision of the evil god, he mistakenly thought that the grain of the mortal had been burned up, and that the evil god had not come to the earth to do evil. Every year (August 15) every year, farmers burn grain straw to mislead evil gods, and the grain has not been damaged since then. Gradually evolved into a torch to celebrate the harvest of grain. In addition, some data show that the torch material was originally made of wild grass, but later, when the conditions were improved, the diesel oil on the tractor could be used as fuel for a long time.

However,we rarwly go back to our hmetown now,and now very few prople will light a light in the Mid-Autumn Festival. But I don't think this custom should be forgotten.Every custom has its own meaning.

When I was a child,my parents were very busy with work,so I had to stay at my grandparents’ house. And what I can't forget is the Spring Festival. In this festival, our whole family is reunited, shared delicious food, and celebrated the festival.

With the arrival of the Spring Festival, every household has become busy. Although my parents are busy with work, they will also be on the day before the festival. The Spring Festival is one of the most important festivals in China. On this day, people will prepare rich food, such as chicken, duck, fish and meat. In the evening, the family sat on the table and ate while chatting, talking about the happiness and happiness of the year, as well as the difficulties and setbacks of the year. Let's raise our glasses and celebrate the holiday together. Before dinner, fireworks are usually set off in many places to show the beginning of the Spring Festival. After dinner, people will visit other houses, chat, or play cards.

On the day of the Spring Festival, people will also buy couplets and paste them on the door of the room at home, symbolising the welcome of blessing and exorcising evil spirits, bringing good luck and peace to the family this year.

The Spring Festival is not only a day for family reunion, but also a day for long-lost friends to unite. The Spring Festival can bring the family together, which is a happy day, and also makes us realise that it is not easy for family reunion. Therefore, we should cherish this beautiful day and the day of reunion with our family.

Every time on the eve of the Spring Festival, although the home is not dirty and messy, my mother will still lead the whole family to clean. Sorting out all kinds of bits and pieces in the home, classifying them again and placing them, etc., is also a big project. So I asked my mother why she always cleaned up before the Spring Festival, and my mother would answer me, "Farewell to the old and welcome the new, sweep away the year's mildew and unhappiness so that everything will go smoothly next year." Although I do not believe in these so-called morals, but still want to map a good prize, will follow my mother's cleaning.

After the Spring Festival Mother began to limit the number of steamed buns. Every time the Spring Festival began ten or twenty days of staple food to eat, I was about to eat vomit, so I asked my mother, "Can't you make it or buy it when you want?""My mother told me, "Do not fight for steamed buns, steamed buns also symbolize the thriving next year." Moreover, from the first day of the first month to the fifth day, it is forbidden to use fire to steam steamed bread and stir-fry, so it is necessary to steam enough steamed bread for the whole family to eat for a week or more before the year. Besides, everyone has gone home for Chinese New Year, where to buy these for Chinese New Year?" I thought about it, and it does make sense.

My favorite Chinese traditional festival since childhood is the Spring Festival, which is a folk festival integrating the old and the new, worshiping gods and ancestors, praying for good luck and warding off evil spirits, family reunion, celebrating entertainment, and eating. The Spring Festival has a long history. It originated from the primitive beliefs and nature worship of early humans and evolved from praying for the beginning of the New Year in ancient times. It carries a rich historical and cultural heritage in the process of inheritance and development. There are many customs of the Spring Festival, which are very interesting, such as sticking couplets, hanging New Year pictures, keeping watch, lion dancing, paying New Year's greetings, and so on. New Year greetings are a way for people to bid farewell to the old welcome the new and express good wishes to each other. The New Year time is generally the first to the fifth day of the lunar calendar, and the form is generally to visit relatives and friends or SMS blessings. My favorite custom is also to pay New Year's greetings because generally to the elders, the elders will prepare red envelopes to send hope that the younger generations are healthy.

The Spring Festival represents warmth and affection, "money is not money, go home for the New Year” and "A year is not rushed, catch 30 nights", these words show the heavy historical accumulation of the Spring Festival load, as well as the Spring Festival in the eyes of the sacred status of the Chinese people. "Coming home for the New Year" is not only a gathering of relatives but also a spiritual baptism and the renewal of ethical relations. At the same time, the Spring Festival culture is a long-established Chinese culture, Oriental culture, and the inheritance and development of excellent traditional Chinese culture.

Later, I also gradually grew up and left my grandmother, came to the city to study, with the increase of grade, go back less and less time, every winter solstice grandmother will continue to pick persimmons, waiting for the New Year when we go back, and then give us to go home peace and joy.

Since ancient times, Chinese people have paied attention to the orderliness of elders and children, and the status of banquet participants will be fully reflected in ancient banquets. The position of the table, the way of sitting, and the layer of the table are all limited by strict etiquette, and the violators are improprieties. Therefore, people sit according to their social status, identity and clan relationship, so as to keep the process of the banquet in order. After a long time of precipitation, this custom has gradually solidified into a ritual tradition, which is still affecting us today. Chinese traditional table manners basically follow some basic principles.

Seating etiquette refers to a series of etiquette norms to be followed in the seating arrangement of various banquets. It mainly includes: on the right (following international practice), on the center (the center is higher than the two sides), on the front row (applicable to all occasions), on the far side (far from the door), on the front door (good vision).

The Double Ninth Festival, together with New Year's Eve, Qingming Festival and Hungry Ghost Festival, are collectively known as the four traditional Chinese festivals for ancestor worship.

Nowadays, people mostly worship their ancestors on the New Year's Eve and Qingming Festival, but in ancient times, the Double Ninth Festival was also an important day to worship their ancestors. On this day, people have activities such as going out to enjoy the autumn, climbing high and overlooking, appreciating chrysanthemums, planting dogwood trees, eating Double ninth cake and drinking chrysanthemum wine.

Wang Wei has a poem called September 9 memories of Shandong brothers, "alone in a foreign land for a stranger, every festival times miss relatives. If you know your brother from afar, there is only one man left." The poem shows that the dogwood was the symbol of the Double Ninth Festival in ancient times. According to ancient customs, people wore dogwood on their heads. The specific operation method is: break off the branches and leaves of the dogwood, tear the leaves into thin strips with your hands, and then stick them in a bun. Some people wear dogwood on their skirts to show respect for the holiday. In modern society, some people will stick dogwood on the door to pray for home safety.

In ancient times, dogwood can also be used as a spice and has certain medicinal value, so in ancient times, it was regarded as an auspicious thing, often used to convey the meaning of good luck, praying for good luck and warding off evil, and can also be used to express the missing of relatives. My grandparents passed away very early, when others enjoy the love of grandparents, I can only envy, so I hope that one day I can put dogwood in the door to express my miss to them.

The Double Ninth Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, which should not be forgotten by people. There are many other customs in the Double Ninth Festival, not only dogwood, but also worthy of our inheritance.

I was transferred to China from the United States for work. It was my first winter in China, and it was extremely cold, but in the morning my colleagues were all smiling and congratulating each other: "Happy Winter Solstice!" "They greet each other:" What kind of dumplings did you eat? "I am perplexed, what is the Winter Solstice, is it also a traditional Chinese festival? My colleague saw my confusion and patiently explained: "The winter solstice is one of the 24 solar terms in China, and it is one of the first traditional cultures to be included in the national intangible heritage." "I have a half-understanding of the nod, just another older with a bowl of dumplings came to me," Come and taste our dumplings, winter solstice to eat dumplings is our tradition! They say you eat dumplings and they stop freezing. "I looked at the steaming dumplings and the enthusiastic smile of my colleagues, and suddenly my heart was warm and warm."
At noon, I not only saw people eating dumplings in the canteen but also ate a kind of white round balls. I raised my doubts to my colleagues, and my colleagues patiently explained: that China's hell is vast, and different regions of the festival customs are different, in the north of China to eat dumplings at the winter solstice, in the south to eat dumplings - you just saw the white balls inside is sweet, and in the winter solstice in Shandong and other places in Sichuan Province is to drink mutton soup, in the southern Gusu area will be fermented rice wine, there is an opportunity to try Chinese rice wine, sweet and warm stomach. "I listened with relish, China indeed has a history of up and down 5,000 years, and its traditional customs are fascinating."
Curious, I went home to collect information about the winter solstice. In ancient times, the winter solstice was originally a festival for people to judge the season, and later gradually evolved into a day for ancestor worship, blessing, and family reunion. On the coldest day in winter, the whole family gathered together to eat steaming dumplings and tangyuan, which reflected the important family concept of the Chinese people, and the hospitality of the Chinese people also warmed my heart as a foreigner. So, I chose to do as the Romans do and tasted dumplings and tangyuan on the Winter Solstice.

Chinese culture is extensive and profound, and the customs of each traditional festival are beautiful treasures and unique treasures belonging to the Chinese people. Perhaps for the Chinese people, their culture is the center of the world.

The Spring Festival is just around the corner.During this time,it is a tradition that elders give red envelopes to younger generations to show their blessings to them. When I was a child,it's excited for me to receive these packets.Once, when I took the red envelope from the hands of my elder.I couldn't wait to open it,However,my mother stopped me. Although I was confused about her behavior,I still followed her instructions. After that,I asked her about that thing. My mother explained to me that it's impolite to open the red envelope in front of the elders. And the correct way is expressing your thanks and putting the red envelope in your pocket.I have learned the special manner from that incident and it would be a rule I should follow in the Spring Festival.

A call from hundreds of miles away is coming from my grandmother. "Hello, my dear baby, is it snowing where you are? Do you eat dumplings?" I look out the window and see some leaves with snow falling to the ground. I said with a smile: Yes, It's snowing. It's so beautiful. I've never seen so much snow in the south. "Oh? I think it is beautiful too, but do not forget to eat dumplings. You know Winter solstice dumplings do not freeze ears." "Ok," I said to her and thought about the tradition of eating dumplings during Winter Solstice. Winter solstice is to commemorate the "medical sage" Zhang Zhongjing. It is said that "Medical sage" Zhang Zhongjing left the palace and returned to his hometown. It was winter at that time. He found that many people's ears were frozen to pieces. He asked his disciples to build a medical shed and erect a big pot. Then he fished out the mutton and medicine, chopped them up, cooked the ear-like "Jiao" of bread, and gave two "Jiao" and a big bowl of broth to eat the person who came to ask for medicine. When people ate " Jiao er" and drank "cold dispelling soup ", they were warm all over, their ears were hot, and their frostbitten ears were cured. When they ate dumplings during the winter solstice, they did not forget the grace of  "Medical sage" Zhang Zhongjing's dispelling cold jiao soup. So It is so cold now that I am ready to eat dumplings. I think Different places have different cultures, each culture with its unique charm to achieve the outstanding Chinese traditional culture of five thousand years of beauty.

One Spring Festival in my childhood, an unforgettable event happened to me, from which I deeply felt the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture.

It was a cold winter day. Every family was preparing for the Spring Festival. My mother and grandmother were preparing the New Year's Eve dinner in the kitchen. Dad took out a red “Fu" word, said to stick in the center of the door. I volunteered to take it and was about to put it on when my grandmother suddenly stopped me. "Wait, children," grandma said, "stick the word‘fu’can be exquisite, to stick upside down, indicating the meaning of" fu to ". Grandma smiled and said, "In traditional Chinese culture, sticking the word‘fu’upside down means that blessings and good luck will come to our family, which is an ancient custom that has been passed down to today”. It suddenly dawned on me that this small "blessing" character had hidden such a big cultural connotation. So, I carefully put it upside down on the door, silently praying for the happiness of the family.

Time flies, and December is coming to an end. It didn't take long for the smell of the New Year in the air to get heavier and heavier with the sound of firecrackers. My mind was pulled back to where I had been. "Kid, go get the paste." The father stood on a ladder with the couplets in his hands. I excitedly handed over the paste, and my father skillfully smeared it on the back of the couplets and pasted them on the door frame. In the busyness, the day passed unconsciously, and my hands were dyed red by the Spring Festival couplets, but I never tired of it. My childhood impression of the Spring Festival is nothing more than the pungent smell of firecrackers in the air, the delicious food on the table full of delicacies on the night of Chinese New Year's Eve, and the red envelopes and sweets under the pillow.

As the night falls, the busy day is about to say goodbye. The child's energy was always so strong that in the middle of the night, I was not sleepy, but I had to reluctantly climb into bed at my mother's repeated urgings. I fell asleep in a daze as my mother comforted me again and again, and vaguely felt a hand reach under my pillow, and then a kiss fell gently on my forehead.

I woke up to the sound of firecrackers in the morning, and when I opened my eyes again, I found a few more candies on the pillow and a bulging red envelope under the pillow. I remembered my mother's instructions to wake up and eat a candy first. After careful selection, I finally stuffed the strawberry-flavored candy into my mouth and couldn't wait to run to my parents to send my blessings.

I've always been curious about this. So one warm afternoon, I asked my grandmother about the origin of the custom. Grandma narrowed her eyes and said meaningfully: "Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a little demon named 'sui' who specially haunted the night of the Chinese New Year's Eve, and liked to touch the child's head with his hand, and the child who was touched would become demented. But this monster was scared away by the light emitted by the copper coin, so in ancient times, people would put a few copper coins next to the child's pillow, and secretly help the child to scare away the "sui", so it was called "pressure money", and because "sui" is homophonic with "year", the passage of time was called "New Year's money". As for those few pieces of candy, I want the child to say good things when his mouth becomes sweet after eating the candy. At that time, I nodded my head as if I didn't understand, but I thought it was very interesting.

Now that I have grown up and become sensible, I understand that the little red envelope is not only stuffed with New Year's money but also my family's good wishes and expectations for me. The way Chinese express love is always subtle, but it never lacks a sense of ritual. Just as our national spirit is deep and powerful, it is embedded in every national culture and rooted in the hearts of each of us. Although the taste of the year is fading, the blessings of my family and the sugar in my mouth have long been a seed buried in my heart, and after careful watering, it has now taken root and will eventually bear abundant fruits. The treasures of national culture always make me sigh and bend my waist for them, and I am willing to spend my life feeling and inheriting them.

In my childhood memory, there is a beautiful lotus pond, which is located on the hillside near my grandfather's house. Every summer, the pool of lotus flowers always attracts me to explore. I remember one summer, I went to the lotus pond with my friends to play. We were playing among the lotus flowers. Suddenly, I saw a particularly large, particularly beautiful lotus, its petals pink and tender, like a shy girl. I excitedly pointed to the lotus and cried, "Look, the lotus is so beautiful!" My friends gathered around me and echoed my words. At this time, I could not help but reach out to pick the lotus, want to bring it home to Grandpa to see. However, before my hand touched the lotus, I was stopped by a voice: "Don't move!" I was startled, looking back, I saw a white-haired old grandfather standing behind us. He looked at me and said sternly, "Son, this lotus is for everyone to enjoy, you can't take it away." If everyone was like you, would this lotus pond still be beautiful?" I bowed my head and realized what I had done was wrong. The old man saw my mistake, his tone softened, he smiled and said: "Lotus is a very beautiful flower, they only bloom in summer, we should cherish them." I nodded and gratefully said to grandpa: "Thank you, grandpa, I will not pick flowers casually in the future." The old man smiled with satisfaction and turned to leave the lotus pond. From then on, I never picked the lotus again. Whenever I come to the lotus pond in summer, I always think of the words of the old grandfather, and I will cherish this beautiful lotus pond more.

In China, all of us know some traditional festivals. For example, New Year, Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid Autumn Festival, and Double Ninth Festival. But, in my memory, my favorite festival is the Mid Autumn Festival.

In my childhood, every time we had the perfect time at the Mid Autumn Festival, we always had fun. We ate moon cake, enjoyed the moon, played with lanterns, enjoyed the beauty of osmanthus, and drank some osmanthus wine. What impressed me most was the progress I made moon cakes with my grandmother. Grandmother used her hands which were full of calluses to rub the dough hard to make it softer. But she has her secret recipe like magic which can make moon cakes very delicious. She usually picks up a piece of dough, then puts a spoonful of delicious and magical filling, then skillfully packs them, and finally prints a beautiful pattern, so that a mooncake is made.

At that time, I asked my grandmother why to eat moon cakes, grandma picked up a moon cake and said, with a smile,” The round moon cakes symbolize family reunion and happiness, which have been our Chinese culture since ancient times. “She patted me on the head and then handed me a round moon cake.

The Mid-Autumn Festival originated in ancient times, was popularized in the Han Dynasty, finalized in the Tang Dynasty, and prevailed after the Song Dynasty. The Mid-Autumn Festival with a full moon to symbolize the reunion, for the sustenance of missing homes, and missing loved ones, is a precious cultural heritage in China.

The custom has continued over time. Although the moon cake does not have the past taste, the festival still exists. This is the spirit and crystallization of the ancient Chinese people, not only a good blessing for home and reunion but also the spread of Chinese culture from generation to generation.

My hometown is Xinyang, Henan Province. My parents may not go home for the Spring Festival, but they will definitely return for the Lantern Festival.I still remember when I was in junior high school, my parents took me back home with them on the Lantern Festival one year.As a junior high school student,I absolutely knew that on the Lantern Festival, we have the custom of enjoying lanterns and eating glutinous rice dumplings. However, I was also confused by the fact that my parents were preparing candles and lanterns from early in the morning.

When the sun had set and darkness had fallen,I followed my parents to the ancestral tombs. My heart swelled with fear and anxiety, asked my parents, "Why do we have to come tonight?"As he put the candles on the ground, Dad smiled and responded to me, "Because we have to put candles next to the graves of our ancestors tonight, which is called sending the lamp."My mom handed me a candle and told me to bow to our ancestors like my dad.I looked around and saw that the lighted candles on the ground looked like stars shone brightly in the night sky.People bow reverently at the graves of their ancestors. It suddenly occurred to me that the surrounding environment was no longer scary, but full of warmth.

The behaviour of sending the lamp expressed our gratitude and memory for our ancestors. This reminded me of the point from the movie Coco,“The real death is that no one in the world remembers you.The end of life is not death, but forgetting.”I considered that is why we lighted candles for our ancestors on the evening of the Lantern Festival.

When I was young, I was very interested in traditional culture. At that time, my mother had a friend who was of the Yi * and invited my family to spend the Yi Nationality Year together, which gave me a chance to experience the customs of the Yi *.

The Yi Year has three days in total, but there are other ceremonies before the official New Year, so we arrived a day early. It was the evening when the ceremony began. Families sacrificed pigs, chickens and other livestock to pray for the blessings of their ancestors. At that time, I was still young, but I could also appreciate the solemnity of the scene. In addition to offering sacrifices, each family has to organize New Year's goods, sew clothes, stack firewood, and clean up. This is the same as the preparation of our Han * before the year, in the Yi people this is called "jiulunji", that is, to remove the old and welcome the new.

On the second day, I get up early and look forward to what will happen today. As soon as I went out, I saw a pile of tall and tidy firewood piled outside each family dam, and asked the village to know that the firewood pile was high to show hard work and well-being.

The first day of the New Year in Yi * called "kushi", is the day to eat the New Year's Eve dinner. And the second day is called "duobo", and the neighbors and relatives should pay New Year's greetings to each other and wish each other peace. On the third day of the New Year, a ceremony is held to send off the spirits of ancestors. The lively atmosphere continues unabated.

Some memories may have faded with time, but the excitement and solemnity of the time are still vivid. To this day, when I mention this incident, I can still see the bonfire dancing that night, and I can still hear the continuous cheering.

When I was twelve years old, the Spring Festival was the Year of the Monkey, and my mother led me to various clothing stores on the streets. I vaguely remember that the streets of the peddling sound ups and downs, everywhere is festive red, I was twelve years old, or like pink age, mother must be in the New Year, Led me to the clothing store, insisted on buying me a red cotton-padded jacket, and even red socks, I tried one red cotton-padded jacket after another, I do not like bright red red, I do not understand asked my mother: "Mom I do not like red, why did you buy me a big red cotton-padded jacket?" Mother while busy to show me whether the clothes fit, while I said to me: "this year is your benming year, you have to wear red, this will ensure that you are prosperous this year smoothly!" Later, my brother's life year, my mother also bought his brother a cotton-padded jacket, and later, Grandma also has, mother also has, everyone in their own year of life dressed red and hot.
